Pre-GENERATED Characters

Njáll Þórólfsson

Njáll recently married the beautiful Herdís Ólafsdóttir, daughter of the local goði Ólafur Black-Tooth, to whom Njáll is fiercely loyal. He is a competent fisherman and makes a good living from his farm, but his ambition is to become a famous and wealthy Viking raider. Njáll’s grandmother was from Ireland and he has long wanted to visit her homeland.

Ísgerður Haldorsdóttir

Ísgerður lives at her family’s farm in the Westfjords of Iceland. She has so far rejected all suitors. When she was a child, she befriended—and eventually fell in love with—a boy from the hidden people. She still hopes he will return for her someday. Just like her grandmother, who taught her how to perform seiður magic, Ísgerður is headstrong and opinionated. 

Þrymur Sörlason

Þrymur's parents and siblings were victims of a blood feud, having been burned alive in their house by a rival family. Þrymur was 16 years old at the time and only escaped thanks to rune magic he learned from an uncle. His family’s killers were outlawed and have fled Iceland, but Þrymur has sworn to one day find them and avenge their crimes. Þrymur is unmarried.

Birna Flosadóttir

Birna was born in Iceland and was raised by her father’s cousin who had settled in the country a few years before. While growing up, she traveled the whole of the island with the family, trading goods brought into Iceland by foreign traders. Birna recently married her father’s cousin’s son Kjartan, and the two settled on a farm by the coast. She has a one-year-old daughter named Álfdís.

Sigmundur Gunnarsson

From an early age, Sigmundur displayed great love for poetry, drinking, and games. From the age of five, he used to get drunk and perform poetry at his father’s feasts to the delight of the assembled guests. Sigmundur did not grow up to be as strong as his other two brothers, but he is good-looking and has attracted the interest of many admirers in the region. Sigmundur has no interest in farming, as he dreams of going overseas and becoming the resident poet of a king’s court.

Hrund Erpsdóttir

Hrund is the oldest child of the temple priest of Þór in the Westfjords of Iceland. Just like her father, Hrund is strong and has a hot temper. She has taken part in Viking raids with her brothers in the past, attacking and pillaging the Scottish coast. With her share of the loot, she bought a good farm by the sea not far from her family’s farm. A few years ago, Hrund married Haukur Heimisson, a well-respected an with a broad knowledge of the law. Together, they have a son and two daughters.
